Why Formally Cancel Your GST?

Abandoning a GSTIN without formally cancelling it leads to immense financial risk and aggressive recovery actions by the Tax Department.

Stop Mounting Late Fees

As long as your GSTIN is active, you are legally required to file monthly/quarterly returns (even Nil returns). Non-filing incurs compounding penalties of ₹50 per day. Formally cancelling the GSTIN freezes this liability permanently.

Avoid Bank Account Attachment

If you ignore returns, the GST officer will initiate "Suo Moto" cancellation and raise an arbitrary tax demand. Under Section 79 of the CGST Act, they have the power to freeze and attach your business and personal bank accounts.

The GSTR-10 Penalty Trap

Many people successfully apply for cancellation but forget to file the "Final Return" (GSTR-10). Failing to file GSTR-10 within 3 months of the cancellation order automatically triggers a flat ₹10,000 penalty. We ensure this is filed.

Turnover Dropped Below Threshold

If your annual turnover has dropped below ₹40 Lakhs (Goods) or ₹20 Lakhs (Services), or you have closed your e-commerce operations, you are no longer required to maintain GST. Surrendering it saves you compliance headaches.

How It Works

The Legal Surrender Process

We meticulously handle the ITC reversal calculations, portal submissions, and the Final Return.

1

Compliance Check

We ensure all your previous GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns are filed up to date before applying.

2

ITC Reversal

If you hold stock or capital goods, you must reverse ITC claimed. We calculate this accurately.

3

Filing REG-16

We file the formal cancellation application. Your GSTIN enters a "Suspended" state.

4

Final GSTR-10

Within 3 months of the REG-19 Order, we file your Final Return to officially close compliance.
